A day at the Pool...

The boys are at scout camp this week so I have tried every day to plan something fun with the girls and we have already been to the movies, played at McDonald's twice, swam in the backyard pool and so I asked my brother Garrett if we could come over this day to his apartment pool. I was babysitting George this day so we had him along and we all had the best time! The girls swam their little butts off and I taught George how to maneuver in a life jacket to swim around the pool. Rylee was cute as always and wanted me to catch her every time she jumped into the water. We did have a scary moment when Brynlee caught my attention to a little six year old boy who was in the deep in struggling to stay above the water. I had Rylee in my arms and George next to me so I yelled at Garrett to swim over to him. While he was getting the boy to the edge of the pool I yelled over to his mom who was busy having a conversation with her two friends that her son just about drowned. She ran over and thanked us a million times and the pore boy just layed on the edge of the pool gasping for air and coughing and out of breath. It was so sad and broke my heart to see how neglectful his mom was when he didn't know how to swim. It was about 100 degrees outside and a perfect day to swim despite the scary trauma, I only say that because I could see how rattled Baylee was and it took her a while to want to get back in the water. She just stared at the boy and looked so worried. I don't like to be out in the sun and swimming is about the last thing I want to do in the summer but I bucked up and took the kids and we had a great time. Thanks to my brother for the free swim party, we can't wait to do it again!!

A very special day...

The day after Carson turned 12 we had a Birthday/Ordination at our home with our family. It was so special and I'm so proud of Carson and the kind of kid that he is and for his dedication to his faith and his excitement to hold the priesthood. We had many people there and had a fabulous dinner after. It was a great evening and we are so grateful to every one who came to share this special day with our family!

Happy 12th Birthday Carson!!

Carson turned 12 on June 21st and what a special Birthday. About a month before his Birthday Warren and I were in the car discussing Carson and what a great son he is and I just started balling because I can't believe that I will have another son who will hold the priesthood. The years seem to fly by so fast these days and I remember the day Carson was born like it was yesterday. Carson had a friend Birthday party earlier in the month and had a great time at the church gym playing games like: dodge ball, speed, soccer, and we also played a candy bar game. We had pizza, donuts, cookies, licorice, pop, powerade for the boys to munch on. It broke my heart when none of his friends from school showed up and I could see how hurt he was but most of everyone else showed up and we made the best of it. We also had a family Birthday on a Saturday night and Carson was so excited to get a gun from Grandpa & Grandma Rawson. It is something that the grandsons look forward to when they turn 12. Carson is such a great person and son. He is so giving, helpful, loving, friendly, and funny. Carson hates it when I call him this but he is a "label whore".  He only likes clothes and things that have brand names like Nike, Puma, BYU etc. He cracks me up, except for the fact that I can't afford his tastes. Carson is very athletic and by far my favorite thing to watch him do is SOCCER! I think his talent is amazing and I would love to see him focus on only that but he also loves football and basketball. Carson works hard in scouts and is always willing to mow the lawn when he is asked and sometimes he just offers because he sees it needs to be done. Carson is the type of kid that wakes up close to noon in the summer but stays out all day with his friends until it's after dark. Carson never eats unless it has sugar in it and always has cavities (surprise, surprise), he is so excited to turn 12 and go to young men's. I love this kid so much and want him to stop growing up. Happy 12th Birthday Carson, you are the greatest!!

Baylee Boo's 6th Birthday!!

Baylee turned six on June 5th and boy was it a busy day! It was the second to last day of school and it was a field day which meant I had to be at the school all day helping with the outdoor activities for PTA. I took Baylee shopping after school to pick out some toys and clothes for her Birthday and then she chose Panda Express for her Birthday dinner! On Sunday after her birthday we had family over to celebrate with us and she had a great time. The month was so busy that we just had her friend pool party on Monday in our backyard. We played games, water balloons, jumped on the tramp and ate cupcakes. Baylee was so excited to have her cousin Kate sleepover for her friend party and they had a ball together. Can't you tell by their cute faces!! I love this sweet girl so much and have had so many sweet compliments from teachers and people who know her and love how she dresses each day ( which is all her she is very picky on her outfits and how her hair is done), she is so friendly and outgoing, and is super obsessed with a boy named Cole. She sings and makes up songs all the time, and loves, loves, loves, did I say LOVES her daddy! She is an amazing little tumbler and loves to show off her skills, she is always moving, she has the Bishop wrapped around her finger (she goes to his office every Sunday after Sacrament meeting and he takes the time every week to give her candy), she is my little buddy and I will be a little sad to see her start first grade in a couple months. I love you Baylee Boo, Happy 6th Birthday!!

Good bye Third Grade...

Brynlee is such a great student and has beyond exceeded the normal requirements for third grade. Her teacher Mrs. Packard was so amazing and loved that Brynlee would stay after school every so often to help her out with little things around the classroom. On all of Brynlee's progress reports she is off the charts with her smarts, and in reading she is on a sixth grade level. Brynlee worked really hard to receive a gold medal and proudly shows it off in the picture above. Great Job Bryn!!

The end of Elementary...

What a great year Carson has had in sixth grade! Carson played Homer in his sixth grade play and put on a great show singing with his friends. Carson will miss his teacher, Mrs. Bradshaw. Carson worked hard to receive a gold medal this year and I'm so proud! Carson has come so far and was so excited back a few months ago to finally be released from speech therapy. This kid is so friendly and loves to play sports with his friends at recess. Now on to Middle School, I just can't believe how fast he is growing up!

Brynlee's Ballet Recital

Tonight Brynlee danced in her ballet recital with a few of her friends. They worked so hard and the dance turned out so beautiful! Brynlee is such a serious dancer and I think Ballet is her calling, she nailed every move. I had so many comments on how beautiful Brynlee's eyes were and with makeup she looked so grown-up. I don't know how we are going to keep the boys away from this girl!

Cody's Mission Call

We are so proud of our nephew Cody, he just received his mission call on Wednesday to the Florida, Ft. Lauderdale mission. We are so excited for him and grateful to him for setting such a great example for our boys!

Memorial Weekend at the Cabin

We spent our first weekend at Warren's parents cabin since they purchased it last month. We had so much fun, the most favorite part for the kids was riding the four wheelers. We went with grandma and grandpa, Ryan, Stephanie, and George. Some decided to walk the property and were shocked to run into a mama moose and her baby moose. We made a fire, played pool, played cards, watched movies, played on the four wheelers, shot guns, and relaxed on the front porch of the cabin. We can't wait to go back and spend many more weekends doing it all over again!

Baylee's Kindergarten Program

Baylee was such a sweet little singer at her program last week. She was so excited for me to come and watch her program. After they served a treat and I got this cute picture of Baylee and her teacher Mrs. Platt and her friend Cole ( who she loves). I have volunteered every Friday in Baylee's class, helping the kids read and checking out books to them. I have really enjoyed this time and have loved getting to know all of Baylee's friends. Mrs. Platt is the best teacher ever and I'm so grateful that Baylee was able to have her before she takes a leave of absence next year.
