Baylee's Nightmare!!

A week ago Monday Brynlee accidentally shut the front door on Baylee's pinky finger and amputated the tip of her pinky finger off. I was not home at the time and I got a frantic call from Warren telling me to hurry home that part of Baylee's finger was off and we needed to get her to the emergency room. I thought he was exaggerating until I saw her finger for the first time in the E.R. Warren had to peel off the door jam a piece of Baylee's finger along with her finger nail. The pictures are backwards with the bottom two pictures being shortly after it happened in the E.R. Baylee was in a lot of pain and so were Warren and I. We couldn't believe how bad it looked the pictures don't do it justice. The doctors told us that the bone was exposed in her finger and she would have to go into surgery to repair it. We made the mistake of giving her a couple cookies in the E.R. so we had to wait 6 hours for them to digest so she could have the surgery. Her stomach had to be completely empty for them to knock her out during the surgery. The third picture is of Baylee in her hospital gown and booties waiting patiently on daddy's lap. The second picture is of Baylee right out of surgery eating a Popsicle and she was so thirsty she drank to cups of sprite. We were worried she would throw it all up so soon after surgery but she kept it down thankfully. The top picture is of Baylee's finger one week after surgery. We took her back into the surgeon on Monday and he said everything is healing perfectly. There is still raw skin so we have to have it wrapped and kept out of water still for at least another two weeks. That in itself is a nightmare. Baylee has very sensitive skin and the bandaging is leaving wounds all over her hand. The whole thing has been quite the ordeal and I'm so glad things weren't any worse the surgeon said he tried to save as much of her fingernail bed as he could. He said there should be about 1/3 of it left. On top of this whole nightmare last Friday I had to take Baylee in to have her hand re-wrapped due to her dunking it in the tub and while we were there Brynlee passed out and hit the door. The nurse called 911 and soon arrived the paramedics who looked her over. When it happened it looked as if she was having a seizure. Her eyes were rolled back and her hands and feet were tightening her lips went purple and she was very pale and then she just stopped as if she was dead. I was shaking her and calling her name thinking wasn't Baylees finger enuf for one week. She came too and the paramedics gave us the option of transporting her to the E.R. or walking her a couple doors down to her pediatrician. We decided to take her to her pediatrician who looked her over and said she had a breath holding spell usually triggered by something. We think she was hungry and maybe in shock from Baylee's finger. Brynlee is doing fine now and Baylee is slowly recovering. Thank you to all of you who called or stopped by to visit Baylee. Baylee sure has a lot of people who love her!

Baylee's new sassy Haircut!

Here she is getting ready for her new haircut, daddy's downstairs and doesn't know what's about to happen because if he did he would stop it.

Her hair was pretty long but the mullet look is not so much in these days. Besides that her hair wouldn't do much and she had a lot of breakage do to the ponytails that I put in her hair everyday. Last year she even had a couple of inches cut-off and now we have to do it again so it will grow in thicker and healthier.

Don't you just love the new sassy bob. I love it and it already looks thicker. As soon as this picture was taken I walked her downstairs to surprise her daddy. You could say he was mad and shocked! He soon got over it, and now loves it as much as everyone else. Thanks grandma Jana for the cute new haircut!

Warren and I just celebrated our 12 year anniversary on March 7. We usually go to St. George every year but this year we decided that we better cut back since Warren hasn't been working very much. My dad and step mom took our kids for the weekend, Thank you so much! Warren and I enjoyed our weekend going to dinners, movies, shopping, and hanging out with friends. This picture was taken on our anniversary we went to dinner with friends ( the Schaugaards & the Clarks) all of our anniversary's were in a row starting with the 6th being the Schaugaards anniversary and then ours the 7th and then the Clarks on the 8th. We are so lucky to have some of the greatest friends around! I'm also proud to say that this weekend I started our food storage. Yes, I'm sad to say that it's taken me 12 years to get my act in order. I still have a long way to go but at least it's a start. Then on Sunday we went to my brother's ordination to the Melchizedek priesthood. Warren and I are so proud of him and for his desire to serve a Mission. Keep up the good work Sky!

February Catch-up!!

Here is Connor getting a couple scout awards at the Blue & Gold Banquet! Keep up the great work Connor!

How cute are these two? Just Adorable, I bought a new camera and it has some cool modes on it and one thing it does is black & white or sepia pictures. I was babysitting my niece Katelyn and I was so excited to try out the sepia mode.

Also in February, Connor received the C. E. O. Award ( chief example to others). He received his award for great Handwriting. This kid seriously writes better than most adults, every year his teachers tell me how beautiful his handwriting is.

Playing in the Ocean...

Better late than never, I finally got around to posting the pictures of us at the beach on our trip one month ago. The kids had so much fun playing in the water and sand, I wish we would have had time to go back again before we left. Carson I think loved the beach the best. Before we left on vacation Carson kept telling me that all he wanted to do was to run on the beach. It was such a nice day that the boys stripped down to their underwear and played in the water. Brynlee was mostly busy looking for seashells and Baylee never stopped moving except to bend down and pick up a handfuls of sand. The beach was very relaxing to me. I loved just sitting there and watching the kids having the time of their lives.

California Here we come!

We finally saved the money to take our family on an amazing trip to California. We left on January 1st and came home January 11th. We had the best time as a family. We made a few stops on the way there and on the way back but while in California we stayed with my second cousin Laura and her family. We started our adventure with first driving to San Diego to Sea World. Here is Baylee checking out the Polar Bears!

The kids loved watching the Whales!

Here is our family pic right when we arrived at Sea World! We spent one day there and I loved it the most. There were no crowds and we walked right on to everything. It was very relaxing to me to walk around and look at everything. The boys loved the ride the Atlantis, they got on and off it several times because no one was in line.

Next on are agenda was three days straight of Disneyland and California Adventures! This was a favorite for our whole family. The third day we went I scheduled a special mother-Daughters lunch at Ariel's Grato. It was a bit expensive but well worth the experience. We had five special visitors at our table. The first was Sleeping Beauty, who asked Baylee for a Hug!

When we first came down the stairs Ariel is waiting at the bottom to greet you and have your picture taken with her. Baylee was too nervous to stand by her but Brynlee was eating it up!

Here is the girls with Belle! Also visiting at our table was Cinderella( Brynlee's favorite ) and Snow White who we also got pictures with. Brynlee was so cute she asked mom are we really eating at Ariel's house? I will always cherish this lunch, the excitement on the girls faces were priceless!

Carson in Toon Town, isn't he strong.

The kids in Toon Town.

A family Picture in California Adventures!

Next on our stop was a day trip to Universal Studios! Connor was so excited to pose in this uniform.

This picture may be a little freaky to people but it has a story behind it. My little brother has nicknamed Baylee Chuckie because of her wild hair when it's not done up cute. So when I saw this cutout of Chuckie I couldn't resist. This picture is for you Sky!

We ran into Dora the Explorer while we were there!

Warren and I took a nice pic overlooking Universal Studios!

Here's our cute kids posing by a fountain. I took almost 150 pictures while we were gone so it was hard to narrow it down to a few to share with everyone.

The kids begged to have their picture taken with Jaws! Ending our day we were in a mild Earthquake. Connor and Carson were able to feel it and thought it was cool. My dad even called us to ask if we felt it. We were told it was a good thing it wasn't as big as the last one. It was a real shaker.
Last but not least on our adventure was driving back to San Diego to go to the San Diego Zoo!
Isn't this picture sweet, I usually don't believe in taking pictures unless people are in it. When I saw this cute Koala sleeping in the tree I was a goner.

My hot husband looking cool by the elephants!

My four monkeys!! What a time we had I hope they never forget it. Seeing their excitment was well worth the wait it has taken us to finally take them on a real vacation.

Christmas Morning!

What a great Christmas we had! The kids had so much fun opening their gifts from Santa, I just love to see how excited they get. The boys got a Wii and they were so thrilled. Brynlee got Petshop stuff and a Hello Kitty Stereo. Baylee got a little pink Barbie four wheeler. She looks so darn adorable driving around the house on it. The kids also got a trip to Disneyland from Warren and I which we will be taking real soon! The kids were pretty spoiled this year but we made a real point to teach them the true meaning of Christmas! I know they understand that it's all about our Savior Jesus Christ and his birth, I did a special sharing time in primary about the true meaning of Christmas. It went great and the children were so attentive! Sunday I also had to give a talk in Sacrament Meeting. I was truly scared to death. I just thought I would mention something I talked about in my talk. My talk was on Building an Eternal Family, I just thought I would encourage everyone to keep your focus on family. There are so many things in life trying to pull apart the family I of course want to be with my family forever and all of you. President Harold B. Lee taught: The most important of the Lord's work that you will ever do will be the work you do within the walls of your own home. I hope all of you have a great Holiday Season, and enjoy ringing in the new year! Love, Eryn
